What is a Dehumidifier?
A dehumidifier is an appliance that removes moisture from the atmosphere. It uses cold coils which attract the moisture from the air, which then condensates on the coils and is collected in the dehumidifier to be disposed of.
Why does condensation appear on my windows, cupboards and walls?
Moisture in the air always looks for the coldest place it can find - which tends to be on windows, and in cold areas of your house. This condensation is caused by many factors such as drying laundry, boiling kettles, or taking a shower. All of these actions cause moisture to be released into the atmosphere - which causes condensation.
Why do I need a Dehumidifier?
A dehumidifier will remove all this excess moisture from the atmosphere in your home - which has many benefits. As it prevents moisture from entering your walls, a dehumidifier will help to prevent damp - which can be very expensive to repair. It also prevents growth of mould spores and ensures the air in your home is cleaner and healthier.
Which type of Dehumidifier do I need?

Where do I put my Dehumidifier?
We would recommend placing your dehumidifier in a central area, such as at the bottom of your stairs, if you are just worried about condensation. If you have a particular problem area that you would like the dehumidifier to deal with, then just place it in that room or area until the problem is under control.
How many Dehumidifiers do I need for the whole house?
Most houses will be fine with just one dehumidifier in place, if it is placed in a central position it should be effective through the whole house as long as doors and corridors are left open for air to travel.
Is a Dehumidifier expensive to run?
